Come with us on a cave tour of Cathedral Caverns, at Cathedral Caverns State Park, in Woodville, Alabama. These caverns are known worldwide for the namesake entrance chamber, which is one of the largest in the world, at 126 feet wide, and 25 feet high.
The caverns are filled with amazing formations, including “Goliath”- one of the largest stalagmites in the world measuring 45 feet tall and 243 feet around, a “caveman” perched atop a flowstone wall, a “frozen” waterfall, and a large stalagmite forest.
Other activities available at the park include gemstone mining, backpacking, and camping. Campsites include improved sites, with electrical and water hookups, and back-country sites, for a primitive camping experience. The Welcome Center opens at 09:00 each day, and closes when the last cave tour finishes.
