Israel is known as the Holy Lands by members of several different religions, but the country of Israel has far beyond pilgrimages to offer visitors. As some peace settles into the area, the country has become more attractive for visitors from around the world.
With its stunning Mediterranean beaches, it is a place for seafarers and sun lovers. With it’s amazing old towns, it is also a place for curious explorers and history lovers. But Israel also has cosmopolitan cities with little known names beyond Jerusalem and Nazareth. These cities await discovery by travelers, with the local farmers and markets, craftsmen and artists.
Of course if a religious pilgrimage is a serious bucket list item, this is where one can follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ, from his birthplace in Bethlehem, his childhood home in Nazareth, and on to his burial location near Jerusalem. For Christians, this is a once in a life time experience.
